Arabic to African

Earlier this year Emma Nelson held a new workshop to introduce some keen belly dancers to African dance. The evening was extremely popular and Emma returned again on 20th April for another workshop.

This workshop taught us the 'Moribayassa' which is a very old rhythm and dance. The rhythm is played exclusively for the joyful dance of a woman who has overcome a difficult situation. Traditionally originating from Northeast Guinea we built up a series of moves to live drum by Hans Sutton from Shekere.
